We end another week at The Latino Newsletter. For those keeping track, this is Week 13 of our nonprofit startup.
As of this afternoon, I am writing to 688 subscribers, a growing social audience of 5,000 followers, and a website that is now averaging about 4,000 visits per month. Our podcast launched about six weeks ago and has already eclipsed 1,000 listens.
This is all happening as we enter the fourth month of going live. We are trending up, and it is all because of you!
Everything about @LatNewsletter is trending up. Everything. Every month since the launch of thelatinonewsletter.org in early June, we continue to get yummy organic search increases.
Thank you to ALL who have been supporting it so far. More to come!

Before I share more about our latest podcast episode (episode 6!), the response to the Latino Media Consortium was fun to see on Thursday, even though Meta wanted to pump the brakes on it.
Just another reason to help Latino media operators develop platform-proof audiences. Facebook removed pretty much every mention of our Latino Media Consortium launch today — from our official accounts, partner publisher AND personal accounts. Not cool. Not cool at all. What's FB… x.com/i/web/status/1…

On to this week’s episode of The Latino Newsletter podcast.
Federico de Jesús pitched me a show idea last week because The Latino Newsletter is committed to covering Puerto Rico and the impacts of Act 22, just like in my past editorial lives. He suggested that he have two guests of Puerto Rican descent who are diametrically opposed politically to virtually everything except for (wait for it) the abolishment of Act 22. So that is what we did. Federico was one of the guests, and Javier Ortiz was the other.
A 2-guest show?
A Democrat debating a Republican?
I was intrigued.
So we recorded the show, and Joaquin Cotler worked his magic to make it happen. As a bonus, we also discussed Bad Bunny’s comments this week.
Here is the show.
If you like what you hear and want to be notified of new episodes, you can subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Audible, or iHeart Radio. We are also on YouTube.
We are also posting all episodes here at The Latino Newsletter.
Thanks for listening!
PS: The number of Act 22 individuals officially registered with the government of Puerto Rico is public information (link here). That spreadsheet we uploaded also includes Acts 60 and 20.

What We’re Reading
Reggaeton and Politics: Props to Adrian Carrasquillo, who filed for Rolling Stone this week about Anuel AA and Justin Quiles endorsing Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.
Adrian was kind enough to get my thoughts about it. Here is what I said:
That’s ME in Rolling Stone
Happy weekend.
