Rep. Joaquin Castro

Joaquin Castro has represented San Antonio in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2013. He currently serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Joaquin's work in Congress focuses on building out what he calls the Infrastructure of Opportunity: good public schools, a high-quality health care system, and well-paying jobs that allow folks to pursue their American dream. Joaquin was recognized as the most effective Democratic House Member in the 118th Congress by the Center for Effective Lawmaking — for introducing over 30 bills and bipartisan amendments, and for working diligently behind the scenes to move his proposals through the legislative process.
