Future Forward, the Harris PAC, Gets Down With Corridos Ahead of Election Day
Two radio ads are aimed at swing state Latinos
You may have heard of Future Forward PAC, the massive pro-Kamala Harris vehicle that recently announced a $100 million closing message ad campaign aimed at swing state voters with a focus on the economy and contrasting Harris and Trump plans for the nation.
Well the group, which is putting half of its budget into digital ads, is out in the closing push with two radio ads in the form of corridos aimed at swing state Latinos with a focus on warning Hispanics about the dangers of Project 2025 and another on the economy.
The spot “Puro Engaño” focuses on the deception of Project 2025 and how Trump’s presidency would endanger the health care coverage of four million Latinos.
The second ad “Por Prosperidad” casts Harris as a daughter of immigrants with a big heart who understands the sweat of workers drives the economy while Trump “hated” giving overtime pay to his workers just to save a few bucks.
It all recalls 2016 when political songs in Spanish hit it big.
There was a salsa for Trump, a corrido for Bernie Sanders titled “El Quemazón,” and of course the big one, when the late Vicente Fernández came out of retirement to drop “El Corrido de Hillary Clinton” as his musical endorsement.
