It was a pretty busy week here, and this is the first day that The Latino Newsletter published a morning post and an afternoon post. So, I will be brief with today’s second post.

We just dropped Episode 3 of The Latino Newsletter Podcast with Cristina Escobar, Co-Founder and EIC of LatinaMedia.Co. Cristina is an incredibly talented entertainment journalist and critic who continues to deliver exceptional work while advocating for greater representation.

For three years at Latino Rebels, Cristina’s bylines were some of my favorites. Whenever I want to check in on the state of Latino and Latina representation in Hollywood, Cristina is always at the top of my guest list.

You can find our show on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Audible or iHeart Radio. We also post all episodes on The Latino Newsletter homepage.

We will be back with another show next week.

And now, a break from our sponsor.

Two More 2024 Polls

This week, there was a lot of 2024 Latino poll talk. I am still thinking about my Wednesday conversation with Carlos Odio about a “Latino reset” in the election. It feels as if the Harris-Walz ticket is trending up with Latinos.

I did see a Thursday tweet from Mark Hugo Lopez of Pew Research with new Latino polling info that has me thinking even more about this race.

On Friday, The Nevada Independent wrote about a new Nevada poll of Latino voters, noting that “Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald Trump by 18 percentage points (53 percent to 35 percent) among Nevada Latino voters” and that “sixty-two percent of respondents said she has a better chance than President Joe Biden at defeating Trump, though Trump is slightly favored (34 percent to 32 percent) among self-described independent Latino voters.”

Any new conclusions and questions can wait until Monday and the start of the DNC.

Peace out, y’all.
