It is the 66th week of The Latino Newsletter, and I have some exciting news to share.

Late last week, the team at We Are ALX, described as “a Massachusetts non-partisan, collaborative non-profit with the mission of advancing Latino American prosperity and leadership representation,” informed me that I made this year’s ALX100 list.

As someone who has called Massachusetts home since the early 1990s, it is always a joyous feeling to be selected for any list that celebrates Latinos in this state.

Official news of the ALX100 was featured in the September 14 edition of The Boston Globe Magazine.

According to We Are ALX, the ALX100 “recognizes exceptional Latino American leaders who have demonstrated excellence and have made significant contributions in their respective fields and communities.”

I know several honorees on the 2025 list, but I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that Antonio Caban, associate vice president at 90 West and a fellow board member at The Latino Newsletter, made the list as well. Antonio has always believed in The Latino Newsletter from the very beginning. I was thrilled to hear that we will share this honor this year.

The ALX100 process begins in the spring during a public call for nominations. An independent committee selected honorees “based on community impact and other variables, including diversity of geography, industry, and gender identity,” the Globe notes in its story, adding that it had no influence on the selections, and We Are ALX employees and board members were ineligible for the list.”

The 2025 honorees will gather on October 17 in Boston. The next set of nominations will open next spring.
