The Latino Newsletter's Election Day Coverage
What we plan to do as independent journalists covering our communities

When I launched The Latino Newsletter about six months ago, our top goal was to follow a Phase 1 strategic plan that would end on Election Day, which is today, November 5.
In the next couple of days, I will be publishing a deeper look at how The Latino Newsletter has performed during this time. We got a lot of wins, and as we head to our next Board meeting in early December, we will be deciding where we go next during Phase 2.
As for Election Day, The Latino Newsletter will continue to cover this cycle through a strong Latino lens. Here is our coverage plan, one where we will try to fill in some of the voids that exist in American political journalism when it comes to our community. Our coverage will not be comprehensive, but it will be accurate and timely. It will focus on uplifting voices and news reports that we feel are relevant to Latino communities.
The best ways to follow us on Election Day are these:
On Twitter later this evening. Find us @latnewsletter.
We also plan to do a live TikTok and/or Instagram later tonight.
Contributor Carlos Berríos Polanco will file an Election Day summary from Puerto Rico on Wednesday.
Episode 15 of our podcast (dropping on Thursday) will be about the U.S. and Puerto Rico election results with guest Susanne Ramirez de Arellano.
The week after, Episode 16 will feature the fabulous Geraldo Cadava.
We will also be taking opinion pieces for Thursday. Feel free to reply to this post if you are interested in pitching me or go here for more.
Story 4 of The Latino Election Project
We did produce Story 4 of The Latino Election Project on Monday, but I didn’t want to send another email that day. Two was plenty.
If you missed that story, click on this link.
I had the pleasure of being a pre-Election Day panelist for THE CONTEXT from the BBC. Here are three clips for you to consider. Let me know what you all think.

Happy voting. Trust your sources and information. And get some rest, too. This is going to be a marathon.
